This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
The UAW filed NLRB charges against Hyundai in September 2025 alleging anti-union coercion and interference with organizing at its US manufacturing plants, including the Alabama facility where child labor violations were also documented.
HD Hyundai machinery has been documented in use during the demolition of Palestinian homes and structures in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) over multiple years. Amnesty International and DAWN verified the use of Hyundai excavators in Israeli demolitions in Masafer Yatta in 2023. A March 2025 report by Amnesty International Korea found HD Hyundai machinery continued to be “widely used” in such demolitions, with specific incidents cited as recently as January 3, 2025, in Jabel Mukaber. The company’s heavy equipment, sold through local dealers, facilitates the ongoing expansion of Israeli settlements and infrastructure in the occupied West Bank, activities considered illegal under international law. HD Hyundai has been cited in a United Nations report on business involvement in the occupation and listed by the AFSC among companies to be investigated for profiting from these activities.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
