AviChina Industry & Technology is a Hong Kong-listed subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), designated by the U.S. Department of Defense as a Chinese Military Company in June 2020. AviChina is China's sole mass producer of military helicopters, manufacturing the Z-10 attack helicopter, Z-19 armed reconnaissance helicopter, and Z-20 utility helicopter. Its parent AVIC produces the J-20 stealth fighter, J-10 multirole fighter, and Y-20 strategic transport. OFAC placed AVIC subsidiaries on the NS-CMIC sanctions list under Executive Order 13959, prohibiting U.S. investment. Seven AVIC subsidiaries were added to the Commerce Department's Entity List in December 2020. In 2024, NGOs documented that AviChina-supplied aircraft were used to strike civilian targets in Myanmar, prompting Airbus to divest its AviChina stake by April 2025.
