Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PLC (CCEP) is a major bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola products, including Fairlife-branded dairy beverages. Fairlife sources milk from a network of dairy farms, an industry reliant on the continuous impregnation of cows and the separation of calves from their mothers to harvest milk. In 2019, an Animal Recovery Mission investigation revealed systemic abuse at Fairlife supplier farms, including footage of calves being kicked, dragged, and violently handled. This evidence directly contradicted public marketing claims about industry-leading animal welfare.

Following the investigation, a class action lawsuit alleged Coca-Cola and Fairlife had misled consumers about their animal welfare standards. In 2020, a $21 million settlement was reached, holding the companies accountable for these deceptive claims. As recently as February 2026, litigation continued regarding the use of Fairlife’s name and logo in marketing that allegedly misrepresented conditions at its supplier facilities. The company’s core dairy product line remains fundamentally tied to industrial animal agriculture systems.
