The company's primary revenue comes from the sale of meat-centric dishes, including beef, chicken, and pork, as part of its full-service dining model. This business model inherently relies on commercial animal agriculture.
In July 2024, Darden Restaurants acquired Chuy's Holdings for $605 million. Darden's public reporting indicates it maintains an Animal Welfare Council and tracks related sustainability metrics, but these corporate-level programs from the parent company do not alter the fundamental animal exploitation required by Chuy's restaurant operations. The acquired chain continues to derive its revenue from the sale of animal-derived food products.
