Equinor ASA is Norway's state-majority-owned integrated energy company and one of the world's largest upstream oil and gas producers. Per the company's FY2024 annual report, equity production of liquids and gas averaged 2,067,000 BOE/d, with the Norwegian Continental Shelf accounting for approximately 67% of total output, including record production from the Troll and Johan Sverdrup fields. Full-year revenues were USD $103.8 billion and adjusted operating income was USD $29.8 billion, delivering a 21% return on average capital employed. The company operates in over 30 countries with deepwater and Arctic drilling projects. Equinor has guided for above 10% oil and gas production growth toward 2 to 2.2 million BOE/d by 2030, with 19 ongoing NCS development projects through 2027, underscoring continued expansion of hydrocarbon extraction.

Indigenous Rights
Since Mar 12, 2026

Equinor's Fosen wind farm in Norway was ruled by the Norwegian Supreme Court (2021) to violate Sami indigenous reindeer herding rights. Operations continued despite the ruling, drawing sustained protest.
