IDT Telecom, a subsidiary of IDT Corporation, received cease-and-desist letters from both the FTC and FCC for routing illegal robocall traffic. The FTC's Project Point of No Entry investigation found IDT Telecom was routing and transmitting illegal prerecorded voice messages without called-party consent. The Industry Traceback Group investigated 15 flagged robocalls between January 2021 and July 2022 that traced back to IDT. The FCC separately issued its own cease-and-desist order targeting IDT as a gateway provider for illegal robocalls entering the United States. IDT was one of 24 voice-over-IP providers identified across approximately 307 illegal telemarketing campaigns between 2021 and 2023.
