This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
Innospec Inc.'s Oilfield Services segment generated $490.6 million in revenue in 2024 (approximately 27% of total $1.85 billion revenue), providing production chemicals, drilling fluids additives, and completion chemicals to oil and gas operators. The segment declined 29% year-over-year due to reduced production chemical activity in Latin America. Its Fuel Specialties segment also serves the fossil fuel value chain, manufacturing fuel additives for refineries and fuel distributors. Together, these two segments represent a majority of Innospec's revenue and directly support fossil fuel extraction and combustion. The Oilfield Services segment has operations across North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
Innospec Inc. pleaded guilty in 2010 to bribing Iraqi government officials to secure contracts for tetraethyl lead fuel additives. An Innospec agent was sentenced to 30 months in prison. The company paid $40.2 million in criminal fines and civil penalties to resolve FCPA and UN Oil-for-Food Programme violations.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
