This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
Kerry Group PLC, a major global taste and nutrition company, has been assessed by the Climate Transition Pathway initiative as failing its Carbon Performance benchmark. This indicates the company’s climate targets and transition plans are insufficient to align with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C goal. The assessment flags a common pattern of corporate greenwashing, where climate pledges cover direct operational emissions but exclude the vast majority of emissions embedded in a company’s value chain. For a food ingredients corporation like Kerry, these excluded Scope 3 emissions—from agricultural supply chains, land use, and customer product use—constitute the overwhelming majority of its climate footprint. The company has also engaged in legal action against the European Commission over a phased ban on smoke flavourings, a regulatory measure that falls under environmental and health policy.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
