This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
Life360's subsidiary Tile is defendant in active class-action (Ireland-Gordy v. Tile Inc.) alleging devices are defectively designed, enabling stalking and harassment. As of August 2025, the court allowed stalking claims to proceed, noting Tile's marketing on questionable platforms (including pornographic sites) exacerbated misuse risk against women.
In March 2024, Life360 experienced a massive data breach exposing personal information of 442,519 customers (names, emails, phone numbers) via an unsecured API endpoint. The company's "Family Safety" marketing narrative is fundamentally at odds with its failure to implement basic security protocols like rate-limiting and input validation.
Life360 has a documented history of selling precise geolocation data of users — including minors — to approximately a dozen data brokers (Safegraph, X-Mode, Arity). While the company announced it would stop selling "precise" data to most brokers in 2022, it continues to monetize "driving data" through its Arity/Allstate partnership. In January 2025, the Texas AG filed a lawsuit against Allstate/Arity, naming Life360 as a primary source of data used to justify insurance premium increases without adequate consumer consent.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
