This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
MiMedx Group develops and markets regenerative medicine products derived from human placental tissue. The company’s regulatory filings and product development materials explicitly describe animal testing as a core component of its research and development process. In its public disclosures, MiMedx states that its IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) applications to the FDA must be supported by data from “animal and laboratory testing results.” The company further notes that product development involves “[c]ompletion of preclinical laboratory tests, animal studies and formulations studies under the FDA’s Good Laboratory Practice regulations.”
This reliance on animal testing is integral to bringing its medical devices to market. The company’s own documentation cites “initial laboratory and animal testing” as evidence for the strength and biocompatibility of its collagen-based constructs. As a developer of biologic products derived from animal and human sources, MiMedx Group engages in animal testing as a standard practice for regulatory compliance and product safety validation.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
