This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
OSI Systems designs, manufactures, and sells security and inspection systems, including baggage scanners, cargo scanners, and vehicle inspection portals. These systems are deployed at border crossings, checkpoints, and other critical infrastructure sites globally. The company's products are used to enforce security and access control in active conflict zones.
The company's own Conflict Minerals Policy acknowledges its products contain minerals that could finance armed groups, stating its aim to achieve a "'conflict free' supply chain – that is, a supply chain that does not directly or indirectly finance armed groups through mining or mineral trade." This policy implicitly recognizes the risk that its supply chain and products are linked to conflict conditions. OSI Systems provides the technological infrastructure for security screening and border control, which are essential functions for state and non-state actors managing territory and populations in conflict areas. There is no affirmative evidence that the company's operations in such zones provide an essential civilian service where the population would be materially worse off without it; its role is primarily one of enabling security and control.
OSI Systems Inc. manufactures Rapiscan security scanners and inspection systems used by the Israeli military at checkpoints in occupied Palestinian territories. According to AFSC Investigate, the company's equipment is installed at Israeli military checkpoints within the occupied West Bank, including at the separation wall, and at crossings along the border of the Gaza Strip, such as Karni and Kerem Shalom. The United Nations has identified such business activities with Israeli settlements as contributing to the maintenance of an illegal occupation under international law.
OSI Systems, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Rapiscan Systems, supplies security screening and full-body scanner equipment deployed at Israeli military checkpoints in the occupied West Bank, including Qalandiya, Bethlehem, and Irtah (Sha'ar Efrayim), as well as the entrance to the Western Wall compound in occupied East Jerusalem. Who Profits documents that since 2016, Rapiscan metal detectors have also been installed at 10 District Coordination and Liaison Offices (DCO), a unit of the Israeli Ministry of Defense administering civilian aspects of the military occupation. Equipment is supplied through OSI's exclusive Israeli representative, G1 Secure Solutions (formerly G4S Israel). AFSC Investigate further documents the company's involvement in U.S.-Mexico border surveillance infrastructure.

Surveillance Capitalism
Surveillance capitalism is extraction without consent — behavioral data harvested from people whose agreement was buried in terms they couldn't negotiate and can't revoke. We exclude companies whose revenue depends on this, and hold a high bar for any tech company where surveillance is a meaningful input. Until users can control, audit, and delete their data, this stays a core exclusion.
Palestine & Occupied Territories
We exclude companies that profit from Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories — settlement construction, military technology, surveillance infrastructure, discriminatory resource arrangements. The ICJ ruled this occupation unlawful in 2024. We don't wait for political resolution to stop funding what international law has condemned.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
