PARKER-HANNIFIN CORP is screened out under 1 exclusion reason spanning 1 issue category.

This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. It is a statement of values.

Environmental Damage
Since Apr 14, 2016

Parker-Hannifin's Enumclaw, Washington facility, which manufactures industrial hoses and fittings, was fined $366,000 by the EPA in October 2024 for hazardous waste violations. Inspectors found the company failed to properly identify and manage hazardous waste, stored incompatible wastes together, and operated without adequate contingency plans, posing a risk of toxic exposure to employees and the environment. This penalty followed a separate EPA enforcement action in August 2024 for Clean Water Act violations at the same site, where a broken stormwater pipe and failure to maintain a required pollution control plan were cited. The company has a prior environmental penalty from 2003 documented in ViolationTracker. A 2020 legal filing related to a Michigan site shows Parker-Hannifin negotiating the technical feasibility of treating contaminated groundwater, indicating ongoing environmental remediation obligations.

Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
