This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.
ProPetro Holding Corp. is an oilfield services company whose core business is providing hydraulic fracturing and other well stimulation services to upstream oil and gas operators, primarily in the Permian Basin. Its operations are entirely dedicated to enabling and accelerating fossil fuel extraction.
In 2021, the company settled charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission over disclosure and internal control violations. The SEC found that former CEO Dale Redman failed to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal perks received from the company and pledged company stock as loan collateral in violation of company policy, leading to material misstatements in financial reports. This settlement followed a 2019 SEC investigation and an investor class action lawsuit related to the same conduct.

The Naughty List
A digest of changes to our exclusion list — new additions, removals, and the evidence behind them. We review the list continuously as new evidence surfaces.
Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
