This page is part of our public exclusion list — a transparency tool that shows which companies we screen out and why. It is not investment advice, and it is not an accusation. But it is subject to change as our understanding of the facts evolves.

SolarEdge Technologies manufactures and supplies solar power inverters, optimizers, and monitoring systems from its headquarters in Israel. According to documentation from the American Friends Service Committee, the company’s systems are installed in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. Specifically, AFSC Investigate reports that SolarEdge equipment was used in a solar power project for the settlement of Shadmot Mehola in the occupied Jordan Valley, a project initiated in April 2015 that utilized approximately 10 dunams of Palestinian land.

Conflict & War Zones
Since Mar 6, 2019

SolarEdge Technologies Inc. manufactures and sells its power optimizer and inverter systems in Israel, where its headquarters and primary R&D and manufacturing facilities are located. The company's operations are materially linked to the Israeli economy and its national infrastructure. According to AFSC Investigate, SolarEdge's business activities in Israel constitute operating in an active conflict zone, as defined by international bodies monitoring the region. The company provides goods and services that sustain civilian and industrial infrastructure within this zone. No public evidence was found of an affirmative argument that the civilian population in the conflict-affected area would be materially worse off without SolarEdge's specific products, which are commercial solar energy components rather than essential, non-substitutable services like power generation or distribution.

Companies appear on our exclusion list based on our investment judgment — not because they've done anything illegal. This is a difference of values and opinion, not an accusation of wrongdoing. Exclusion does not constitute a recommendation against investing in any company, and absence from the list does not constitute a recommendation to invest.
