Visa & Residency Options

Tourist Visa

  • Registration: As of October 2025, stays beyond 2 weeks require registration with the Public Security Directorate or a local police station before the initial 2-week mark
  • Employment prohibited. Verify nationality-specific entry rules at the U.S. Embassy in Jordan.

Work / Residence Visa

  • Requires a formal job offer and employer sponsorship; no independent income pathway
  • Min income: No published minimum monthly salary — salary is set per offer letter
  • Work permit fees: JOD 175–550 (~$245–775/year depending on sector); residence permit ~JOD 40–60
  • Annual renewal; does not provide a path to citizenship

Residency by Investment (5-Year Renewable)

Two tracks available (as of 2025):

Track A — Real Estate Purchase

  • Investment: JOD 200,000 (~$282,000 USD) in property from a licensed developer
  • Ownership must be maintained throughout the residency period
  • Covers investor and family
  • 5-year renewable permit; does not lead to citizenship (programs formally separated July 2025)

Track B — Bank Deposit (Non-Property Owners)

  • Investment: JOD 10,000 (~$14,000 USD) deposited in a Jordanian bank
  • Reduced from JOD 20,000 in February 2025; property owners no longer required to hold a deposit
  • 5-year renewable permit; does not lead to citizenship

Applications through the Ministry of Interior (moi.gov.jo), with the Jordan Investment Commission coordinating document verification.
